Mary Katherine Blackwood is the protagonist of this novel with her sister and uncle having to deal with the antagonist which is actually about anyone but them.In this novel she wishes many people dead as you can see from the quote.
Its a very interesting book you will find yourself reading at first you might find the protagonist your enemy with her some times narrow minded comments towards others friendly or not.Either way you may soon find that everyone else is your enemy now with there intruding ways in Mary Katherine's minuscule world.Love it or hate this book its will still leave you with questions even after you turn the last page of the Shirley Jackson classic.
